An empty stage. A figure in a suit arrives and starts talking. Voices begin to fill the void from places that are hard to locate.

Built upon several years of research understanding the relationship between body and voice; with a taste for the absurd and the strange, dancer and choreographer Stina Fors creates a compelling solo performance in which she allows multiple identities to be seen and heard through an act of distorted ventriloquism.

A performance about what a body can hold, and what it cannot contain, in A Mouthful of Tongues, Stina uses the voice as a unique choreographic tool to explore what we do, and do not, give a voice to. Showcasing humour and collapse in equal measure, not understanding becomes a part of the experience, rather than a problem to be solved.

Biographies

Stina Fors is a performance artist, choreographer, and experimental vocalist whose practice centres on the voice. Her performances are humorous, raw, and risky — built on improvisation, punk energy, and a genuine appetite for the unpredictable. Key works include A Mouthful of Tongues (ventriloquism, vocal distortion), Stina Force (live drumming and vocal improvisation) and Answer Me, Pythia (a durational encounter with oracles, uncertainty, and belief). She has presented work internationally, including at the Venice Biennale and the Gwangju Biennale.

This event takes place in person in our Members Bar. This space is on the first floor, with step-free access via a lift.

All performances will be Relaxed. We invite you to make yourself comfortable and move around if you need to and if you need to leave the performance at any point you will be allowed to return to the space when you feel ready.
