‘Let Your Mind Speak’ is a relaxed poetry and music open-mic event. By encouraging self-expression, this is a space to share your work, have your voice heard, meet new people, be inspired, and expand your creative lenses. This event is curated by 3 Young Producers (Aleksa Asme, Kareem Bennett, Kianu Glasgow) .

About

There will be 2 headline performances, and the rest of the performances will be done through an open-mic system. In both halves of the show, there will also be time dedicated to open discussions and asking the audience some questions in order for everyone to be able to let their mind speak.

The open-mic will operate on a ‘first-come-first-serve’ basis so please aim to arrive early when doors open to secure a slot. Every open-mic artist has a 5-minute slot to perform with 1 song/poem per slot. If you are performing to music, please bring your track on a USB stick so that we can play it. Failure to do this will mean you will have to perform acapella.

There will also be little goodie bags to take away that contain some resources to keep your mind talking and your heart creative.

For who?

There is no obligation to sign up to the open-mic, you are welcome to just come and enjoy some amazing artists speak, rap or sing their mind. However, should you have a creative urge to perform, we certainly encourage you to take the mic! Any ages over 16 are welcome! There are no content restrictions, just pure creative freedom, but we advise to give content warnings where possible!

Please note!

Please note there will be photography and videography taking place at this event. If you do not wish to be in any photos, please let us know before the event or upon arrival. All photos and videos taken of the artists will be sent to the artists after the event.

A reminder that this is a relaxed event so attendees are welcome to leave whenever they need to. There will also be a few beanbags available as a chill-out space for those who need a little rest.

VISIT OUR ACCESS PAGE

We believe in making our shows accessible to as many people as possible.

We offer tickets on a Pay What You Can basis for the majority of performances throughout the year. Tickets usually start at £8, and we have recommended pricing to help you to choose a price that works for you.

We know that ticket price is a huge barrier for some, and the Pay What You Can model offers people who can afford to pay the recommended price or more the chance to support others who can’t.
