TERRAIN IS PULSING. TERRAIN IS ALIVE. TERRAIN IS NOW.

Four artists take over TERRAIN for one night only, transforming the landscape into their own in an event designed for the curious.

We are inviting an exciting mix of live artists working with sound, movement and queer performance from across the London scene, amplifying their distinct voices into TERRAIN.

Set within a strange, otherworldly installation, each performance will reimagine TERRAIN as the evening unfolds.

This is a night for those interested in how live performance can take us somewhere new, unexpected and unforgettable. TERRAIN: PULSE brings life to the land of TERRAIN.

Line-up includes:

Edie Bailey in collaboration with Fraser Owen and Aly Carter
Mengting Zhuo
Jo Morrison
Fanny Bleach (Emma Crowley Bennett)

Biographies

James Dolan

James Dolan is an artist and producer creating across live art, installation and theatre. Originally from Ipswich, now based in London, James graduated with a first-class degree in BA(Hons) Experimental Arts and Performance from The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama.

James is interested in work that resists representation, asking questions rather than providing answers. They are most excited when performance is not bound by form: art-y theatre, theatrical art. They are committed to developing communities around emerging live art practices where artists can develop and support one another, and artistic work can be both ambitious and financially sustainable.

Edie Bailey

Edie Bailey is a non-binary queer creative based in South-East London. A multi-disciplinary artist, their practice is informed by their work as an opera director, folk musician, and experimental composer and improvising performer. Inspired by British folk music and folklore, their work is highly performative, putting storytelling at its centre. They have performed/premiered work at Iklektik, Club Inegales, Orleans House Gallery, Rich Mix, Copped Hall, Chisenhale Dance Space and Centrala (Birmingham.) They have been mentored by Laura Bowler, Bushra El-Turk, Joris Blanckaert, and Susannah Tresillian.

Mengting Zhuo

Zhuo Mengting (b. Guangzhou, China, 1990) composes performative situations with site, sound, body and time, in the forms of live art, participatory installation, concerts and relational curation.

With a background in literature, critical theory and indie music, her work is as concerned with language as with composition and the unspoken. She studied Performance Making at Goldsmiths, University of London, where she is now based. She has created encounters in theatres, galleries and other settings, from public and domestic spaces to online, across the UK, Europe and East Asia, including Whitechapel Gallery, South London Gallery, and Cafe Oto, London; Tai Kwun Contemporary, Hong Kong; BY ART MATTERS, China; MAO Torino, Italy, The Prague Quadrennial, Czech Republic.

Jo Morrison

Jo Morrison is a free-improvising vocalist, performer & assemblage artist currently based in Essex. With (relatively recent) roots in the improvised music scene, DIY sound exploration & performing culture, her art practice is usually kinetic with elements of sound, humour & film. There is an interest in strange shapes within the ordinary, costume & mask-making, mystery, value systems & the liberation of objects from their usual function.

Fanny Bleach (Emma Crowley Bennett)

Emma/Fanny Bleach is a Geordie theatre maker, alternative comedian, writer and drag performer. She prides herself on creating subversive, comical and grotesque work aimed at intriguing and disgusting an audience while always ensuring they have a good time. The world can be bleak, so dressing up as a prawn once in a while and covering herself in mayonnaise feels like honest work.

Emma writes and performs for Newcastle based, all female comedy sketch group ‘Your Aunt Fanny’ who are writing their first radio play for Radio 4 and touring their third show CREASE. Emma’s grotesque burlesque alias Fanny Bleach has been crowned winner of drag competition Top Of The Slops season 3 and her first solo show The Nearly Naked Show is in development and set to hit Edinburgh Fringe 2026, exploring the reclamation of her naked body in all its gory glory.

VISIT OUR ACCESS PAGE

We want our shows to be as accessible to as many people as possible.

We offer tickets to most shows on a Pay What You Can basis throughout the year.

Tickets for Homegrown Festival performances in 2026 start at £3, and we have recommended pricing to help you choose a price that works for you.

We know that ticket price is a huge barrier for some. If you can afford to pay the recommended price or more, choosing to do so supports those that can’t. It makes it possible for us to continue to offer Pay What You Can and welcome those who otherwise wouldn’t be able to attend.
